What Are Permanent Christmas Lights?

Permanent Christmas lights are LED fixtures installed once along the roofline and left up year round. They hide against the trim in daylight, and at night you pick the color, the pattern, and the schedule from your phone. Nothing goes up in November and nothing comes down in January.

How The System Is Built

Individually addressable RGBW LEDs sit inside a color matched aluminum channel that runs along the eaves, gables, and peaks. On InvisiLights track installs the lights sit 12 inches apart, which is what makes the roofline read as a line of light instead of a row of separate dots.

A low voltage power supply and a controller live somewhere serviceable and out of sight. The controller is what your phone talks to, and it is what holds your saved looks and schedules.

Why They Are Not Just A Christmas Product

The name is a holdover from how people first shopped for them. In practice the everyday setting for most homeowners is a soft warm white, which is why a dedicated white channel matters. RGB systems blend red, green, and blue to fake white, and on a house that usually reads slightly blue.

Red and green in December, orange in October, red white and blue in July, team colors on game day, and warm white the rest of the year. One install covers all of it.

How They Differ From Strung Christmas Lights

Strung lights are hung on clips every season and taken down after the holidays, which means ladders, storage, and a new install every year. Permanent lighting is one install with hardware built for weather.

If you want the seasonal look without owning a system, we still install and take down traditional Christmas lights locally. Many customers start there and move to permanent later.

What Installation Looks Like

We measure the roofline from photos and satellite imagery, lay out the runs and controller placement, then confirm the design on a short phone or video call. Most homes never need a visit before install day.

Every job uses UL listed lights. Capital Pro Lighting is an authorized InvisiLights dealer and a Govee certified installer, and we have been working in the Capital Region for 10 years.

Inside The InvisiLights System

InvisiLights' published product specs, on the system we install and stand behind.

RGBW, Not Just RGB

InvisiLights uses a dedicated white channel alongside red, green, and blue, so warm white looks like real warm white instead of three colors blended together.

IP68 Rated

Dustproof and water resistant, which matters on a Capital Region roofline that sees ice in January and sun in July.

73 Built-In Presets

The app ships with 73 preset looks, and you can build and save unlimited presets of your own.

Scheduling

Set daily, weekly, or monthly schedules with the on and off hours you want. Set it once and forget it.

Light Segments

Control sections of the roofline separately for alternating colors, patterns, and movement.

Security Modes

Several security lighting modes keep the dark edges of the house lit without running a floodlight all night.

Common Questions

Are permanent Christmas lights visible during the day?

The track is color matched to your trim or fascia, so from the ground it reads as a shadow line along the roof edge rather than as lighting.

Do they only do Christmas colors?

No. Any color, any combination, and any pattern you want, plus a true warm white for normal nights. Most people run warm white far more than they run color.

Do I control them with a remote?

From your phone. You can also set schedules so they turn on at dusk and off at whatever hour you pick, without touching anything.

How long do the lights last?

The lights are commercial grade and weather rated. Track installs from Capital Pro Lighting carry a lifetime parts warranty plus a 3 year labor warranty on the installation.

Can they go on any house?

Almost always. Roofline length, number of stories, and access change the layout and the price. Send photos or call or text (518) 900-1912 and we will tell you straight.

What does a system cost?

Track mounted starts around $2,500 and runs $29+ per linear foot. Trackless starts around $2,000, and Govee starts around $1,000.
